28-year-old accused of shooting Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer in northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A 28-year-old man was accused of shooting a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer early Wednesday morning in northwest Charlotte.

At around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, police said 28-year-old Dionte McCracking allegedly shot an officer on Enderly Road near the intersection of Tuskaseegee Road.

According to Chief Estella Patterson, a person called 911 shortly before the shooting and reported a suspicious car with two people inside. Officers quickly located the vehicle within five minutes, the chief said…
