Dirt is turning on one of Texas’ buzziest new supermarkets. Asian supermarket chain H Mart continues progressing construction on its highly anticipated second store in Texas’ capital city — and things are really starting to take shape.
It’s been three years since H Mart first unveiled plans for its second location in Austin back in 2023. Those initial project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation detailed a roughly $4 million grocery store slated for 5222 Burnet Road, Suite 600, Austin, TX 78756. After years of delay, those plans updated to a late May completion date for construction of the 23,125-square-foot store.
Despite that preliminary timeline noted in project documents, company officials have yet to confirm when, exactly, the supermarket will finally open up to Austinites.
