MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. (WBTV) – The trial for a North Carolina man accused of using eyedrops to poison and kill his wife in 2018 has been pushed back to 2027.
The jury trial for 41-year-old Joshua Hunsucker was initially expected to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. That’s about eight years the death of his wife, Stacy Hunsucker, who allegedly died from being poisoned with tetrahydrozoline.
Joshua Hunsucker was charged in connection with his wife’s death.
Trial proceedings were now scheduled to begin on Jan. 19, 2027, a member of the Gaston County district attorney’s office told WBTV. The employee said they could not share why the trial was delayed, due to a gag order.
