AUSTIN, TX — Authorities in Austin identified the three people killed in a downtown mass shooting as investigators continued Monday to examine whether the attack may have had a terrorism motive.
Police said the shooting began shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday outside a bar on West Sixth Street, one of the city’s busiest entertainment areas. The gunman was later killed in a confrontation with officers who were already staged in the district when the violence started.
Officials said 14 people were injured in all. Three remained hospitalized in critical condition Monday, and one was expected to be taken off life support that day.
