Man sentenced to 10 years in prison for killing cyclist in crash, Cherokee County DA says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Canton man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for killing a cyclist in a crash, the Cherokee County district attorney said.

Lane William Keyes, 43, pleaded guilty to killing Carlos Moreno Gutierrez, 51, in a crash on Sugar Pike Road in 2025.

Keyes was driving a Rivian R1T truck northbound on Sugar Pike Road when he crossed the center line, hitting Gutierrez.
