CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A recently-unsealed court transcript shows that the man accused of stabbing a woman to death on the Charlotte light rail spoke out during his federal incompetency hearing this summer.

Decarlos Brown Jr. is facing federal and state charges in connection with the deadly stabbing of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte in August 2025.
