HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Twenty-five years after two hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers, previously lost voice recordings are giving us a new perspective of what happened the morning of September 11, 2001.
Called “The Stuyvesant Tapes,” the recordings capture firsthand accounts from ten high schoolers at Stuyvesant High School, located just three blocks away from Ground Zero.
However, the tapes weren’t recorded by an investigator at the scene, but rather by Central Texas native and future journalist Joseph Fenity, who was just 16 years old at the time.
