ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Twenty five years later, the nation is remembering the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the September 11 attacks in 2001. The City of Albuquerque has a special connection to the tragedy at a 9/11 memorial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church downtown.
“Who ever would’ve thought we’d have a link to New York City,” Deacon Robert Vigil said with Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The Church has something no one else has in New Mexico, two full sized beams from the World Trade Center. They were acquired back in 2002, but grew into a 9/11 memorial at the chapel that draws people here every year on the anniversary…
