The exact size of the battery is unclear. Canary Media counted 720 Tesla Megapack battery containers visible on the grounds of the Colossus 2 data center in satellite imagery dated July 11. That would equate to 2.8 gigawatt-hours and between 720 megawatts and 1,400 MW, depending on which Megapack model they are.

On Aug. 20 in Memphis, SpaceXAI energy and data center developer Riley Trettel called this battery the biggest in the nation in remarks to the board of the Tennessee Valley Authority, the federal utility that produces power for 10 million people across the Southeast, according to audio of the meeting obtained by Canary Media…
