RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Yet another gas station in the metro area has been blocked after neighbors argued it would have a negative impact on the neighborhood. City councilors denied a proposal to bring a Maverik gas station to Rio Rancho Thursday night over concerns that traffic from the business would take over nearby residential roads.
“We value our neighbors. And our time we spend outside recreating and that’s why we bought homes in that area,” said Kristine, a nearby Rio Rancho neighbor in Thursday’s meeting.
