Abby’s Legendary Pizza Rolls Into Raleigh Hills Fred Meyer This October

Construction crews have been remodeling space inside the Raleigh Hills Fred Meyer since August, and by October, shoppers there will be able to grab a slice without leaving the store. Abby’s Legendary Pizza, the Roseburg-based chain marking its 62nd year in business, is opening its second grocery-store location in Washington County at the Fred Meyer on Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway.

The Raleigh Hills store will offer dine-in, takeout and delivery service, according to the Beaverton Valley Times, which first reported the opening. The menu will include pizzas, sides and beverages, and the space will carry the same casual, modern decor found at Abby’s other parlors. Fred Meyer spokesperson Tiffany Sanders said the retailer is “proud to support a local, family-owned business while giving customers a convenient dining option,” per the same report.

The Raleigh Hills store follows Abby’s first grocery-embedded location, which opened inside the Hillsboro Fred Meyer at 6495 SE Tualatin Valley Highway earlier in 2026, positioned just past the entrance near the checkout stands, according to the Forest Grove News-Times. Abby’s executive Mike Hudspeth said “the response to our Hillsboro parlor has exceeded our wildest expectations,” adding that Abby’s and Fred Meyer identified Raleigh Hills as another Portland-area community suited to the concept, per the Beaverton Valley Times report.

The Raleigh Hills Fred Meyer itself has deep roots in the area. The store at 7700 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway opened in 1959 as one of founder Fred G. Meyer’s early suburban one-stop shopping centers, according to Archives West, giving unincorporated Washington County and Southwest Portland a longtime retail hub decades before pizza became part of the mix.

Jobs and Gaming Rules Inside the New Parlor

The new location is expected to employ a few dozen part-time and full-time workers, with job openings planned for posting at abbyscareers.com in the coming weeks, per the Beaverton Valley Times. Abby’s already employs more than 800 people across its 37 regional pizzerias in Oregon and Washington, according to the Forest Grove News-Times…
