Abbott, Burrows call for prosecutorial oversight after Williamson County killing

AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows on Friday called for greater scrutiny of local prosecutors following the “random” killing of an Austin man in Williamson County last week.

Andrew James Wimsatt, 62, of Austin, was killed Sept. 7 in the Chandler Creek subdivision near Round Rock, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
