LITTLE ROCK, (Ark.) KATV — For Arkansas mother Maddi Lewis, WIC has been an important part of making sure her family has enough nutritious food each month.
But now, six months after giving birth, Lewis is reaching the end of her postpartum eligibility for the program — and she’s worried about how her family will afford some of the food and formula WIC has helped cover.
“That cuts out stuff that my son eats and I eat, so it’s kind of like I have to prepare in the next two weeks on what groceries I’m going to be able to buy next month based off of what WIC’s helping me with,” Lewis said…
