Murder trial begins for suspects accused of stabbing young woman 130 times in NoDa

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A jury trial is underway for two suspects accused in the disturbing 2020 murder of a NoDa woman.

Police say 20-year-old Mary Collins was lured to an apartment on Rollerton Road, where she was beaten and stabbed more than 130 times by people she considered her friends.

Officials say her body was saran-wrapped, duct-taped and stuffed inside a mattress.

Collins’ family says she had a cognitive disability. Four people were charged in her death…
