Details released on fatal accident on 1-95 this morning, 2 killed

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (WSAV) — Additional details have been released on the fatal accident that occurred early this morning at 6:15 a.m. on I-95 northbound at mile marker 87, shutting it down for over four hours.

Two traffic control workers were killed when a Freightliner box truck failed to maintain its lane causing it to cross onto the right shoulder and strike the traffic control truck. The workers were picking up traffic control equipment outside of the vehicle at the time of the accident, according to a report from Georgia State Patrol.

The box truck pushed the Ford truck across three lanes into the grass median before flipping it over the guard rail where it came to rest next to the southbound lanes…
