A driver from Mexico with a prior drunk driving conviction was jailed following a vehicle crash near Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.
Fredy Lagunas Flores, 45, of Summerfield, was identified as the at-fault driver in a crash that occurred at 12:17 p.m. Friday on County Road 466 near the busy shopping plaza, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
When a deputy asked for his identification and vehicle documentation, Flores claimed he had never possessed a driver’s license issued by the state of Florida or any other state or country.
