Tesla preps $1.4M Texas distribution center

Tesla is planning to build a distribution center near Austin, Texas, further increasing its investment in the region, according to a September filing with the state’s Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The automotive and technology manufacturer expects to spend just over $1.4 million on the 538,720-square-foot facility, with construction slated to begin Dec. 7. The project, which would consist of a new lease space build-out for an existing structure, is targeting a December 2028 completion date.

Tesla did not respond to a request for additional details about the facility. The company has 135 delivery centers in the U.S., with the majority in California and Florida, but none of those are in Texas.
