SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police Department’s DWI Unit arrested 16 impaired drivers over the weekend as part of a major enforcement effort to reduce impaired driving and improve roadway safety.
Police say the unit is quickly approaching 500 DWI arrests for the year, warning that enforcement shows no signs of slowing.
Among those arrested are:
- Brandon Johnson — DWI First Offense, speeding and improper lane usage
- Ontario Walpool — DWI First Offense, driving under suspension and speeding
- Enrique Junco — DWI First Offense, improper lane usage, expired registration and open container
- Joseph Nochta — DWI Third Offense, driving without lights and careless operation
- William Baten — DWI First Offense and improper lane usage
- Cedric Davidson — DWI Third Offense, driving without headlights, open container and driving under suspension for DWI
- Chastity Porter — DWI First Offense, improper lane usage and driving under suspension
- Brian Turner — DWI First Offense, reckless operation and first-degree vehicular negligent injuring
- Juan Reyes — DWI Second Offense and speeding
- Jakeydra Berryman — DWI First Offense and a headlight violation
- Deontario Thomas — DWI First Offense, expired registration and open container
- Reginald Newton — DWI Second Offense and driving without lights
- Lindsay Waguespack — DWI First Offense and careless operation
- Shellie Henry — DWI First Offense, improper lane usage, reckless operation, resisting an officer, two counts of possession of Schedule II narcotics and illegal carrying of a weapon
- Dacoven Stone — DWI First Offense
- Amber Wyatt — DWI First Offense and improper lane usage
“If you choose to drive impaired in Shreveport, there’s a good chance your night will end with flashing lights, handcuffs and a trip to jail,” the department said…
