(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The motorcyclist killed in an afternoon crash near East Platte Avenue and North Chelton Road had been identified as 57-year-old Patrick Bendele, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
On Sept. 2 at around 4:45 p.m., CSPD was called to a two-vehicle crash on East Platte Avenue east of North Chelton Road. The preliminary investigation showed a motorcycle was traveling east on E. Platte Ave. when it collided with a sedan that was making a left turn from a frontage road access to westbound E. Platte Ave.
The motorcyclist, identified as Bendele, was pronounced dead at the scene. On Sept. 14, CSPD was notified by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office of the identity of the motorcyclist. The investigation into the crash is open and active…
