ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The annual I LOVE NY fall foliage report shows most of New York hasn’t seen much change in tree colors so far.
The report for the week of September 16-22 shows roughly half of New York is now seeing some change in the Adirondacks, Catskills, and CNY. While WNY, part of the Hudson Valley, and NYC/Long Island are seeing little to no change.
Specifically, in the Rochester area, there is no significant change in foliage at Letchworth State Park, Farmington, Lyons, Penn Yan, or Greece. However, there is an expected 15% change in Canandaigua with bright yellow leaves. There is also a change of 5% or less in Geneseo, with just a few yellow leaves.
The foliage reports are gathered by over 100 volunteers across the state. We are still several weeks away from “peak” colors…
