An independently owned and operated window company in Alabama has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy after numerous customer complaints and wrangling with local officials.
Window Depot of the Gulf Coast filed for bankruptcy in early September in the Southern District of Alabama, citing estimated assets of between zero and $50,000 against estimated liabilities of between $1 million and $10 million. The filing lists 173 unsecured creditors and notes that no funds will be available to unsecured creditors after administrative expenses are paid.
The bankruptcy filing follows a tumultuous period for the Mobile, Alabama-based business. The company provided replacement vinyl windows, entry doors, patio sliders and hurricane-impact glass systems. It was an independently owned and operated licensee of the national brand Window Depot USA.
