KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Inskip Pool is getting an upgrade and the city is working to improve nearby accessibility infrastructure as the new apartment complex across the street nears completion.
The Knoxville City Council on Tuesday authorized Mayor Indya Kincannon to execute a $261,526 agreement with Cagle Development to replace the existing wooden decking with new concrete decks and improve ADA accessibility to the pool decks and shelter by May 2027.
Across the street, the 98-unit affordable housing community Village at Inskip is nearing completion. In 2024, the council OK’ed a $1.44 million grant from the city’s affordable rental development fund to support the development. The city and complex are working together to build sidewalks and a crosswalk with pedestrian-actuated flashing lights on Bruhin Road.
