Presbyterian to open new dermatology clinic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Presbyterian plans to open a new dermatology clinic backed by a $2.5 million family donation, aiming to treat about 500 patients a week in a state with about 45 dermatologists.

Why one family cares enough to donate so much

Ellen King, an Albuquerque woman who has spent decades dealing with skin cancer, now wants to help other New Mexicans get care.

“I grew up here in the sun, I was a bit of a tomboy. Never used sunscreen. We didn’t think about it back in those days,” Ellen King said.
