LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Thursday night, dozens of members from Nevada’s largest labor union protested their own leadership, claiming they weren’t getting the raises they were promised. Culinary Union members told 8 News Now they were previously projected to get raises of about $1.55, but were told it would now be closer to $0.85.
The sidewalk in front of headquarters, near Spring Mountain Road and Decatur Boulevard, was filled with protesters. Metro police, security, and a tow truck were on-site.

“They’re blocking the entrance because they don’t want us doing the protest,” Shirley De Vere, who has been with the union for nearly three decades, told 8 News Now. “I just got kicked off.”
“We want an audit of the Culinary Union. We want to know where the money is going. Where are our raises?” another protester, who did not want to be identified, told 8 News Now…
