KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) – An 18-year-old wanted in connection with an August shooting was captured Friday morning following a three-hour manhunt through a wooded area in Elgin, according to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.
Elijah Aarion Fisher was taken into custody around 10:15 a.m. Friday after attempting to break through a law enforcement perimeter. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime stemming from an Aug. 29 shooting.
The search began around 7:15 a.m. when deputies and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) fugitive agents arrived at a home on the 500 block of Eskie Dixon Road to serve a warrant. Fisher saw officers approaching, ran out the back porch into adjacent woods, and triggered a massive perimeter response using K-9 units, drones, and a SLED tracking helicopter.
Deputies noted a brief delay while safely containing an aggressive dog in the yard before tracking Fisher. Although Fisher was unarmed when captured, investigators recovered three guns inside his home during the search. Additional charges related to the warrant execution are pending…
