Rays Tap Sports Business Powerhouse Legends Global To Build New $1B+ Tampa Home

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rays have reached a long-term deal with venue-management company Legends Global to help develop and commercialize their planned ballpark in Tampa, the team announced.

Under the agreement, Legends Global will act as the owner’s representative throughout the design and construction phases. The firm will also take the lead on selling sponsorships, naming rights, suites, and premium seating for the stadium, which is scheduled to open in 2029.

The new facility, dubbed the “Forever Home,” will sit on roughly 120 acres near Tampa’s Westshore District on Hillsborough College’s Dale Mabry campus. Plans call for an estimated capacity of 31,000 seats, which would make it the most intimate venue in Major League Baseball. Project designs include year-round event spaces, dedicated celebration zones, and varied seating options, with ingress and egress routes laid out to streamline foot traffic.
