Premium Plate to invest $20M in new Mobile County facility

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – Premium Plate, a subsidiary of the TF Warren Company, is investing more than $20 million in a new steel processing facility in Axis to establish a permanent footprint in Mobile County.

The supplier of mill-certified plate and structural steel products will build the facility at 217 Salco Road, it was announced Friday. Premium Plate currently operates out of a leased location in Chickasaw.

Expected to open in January 2027, the facility will create 12 jobs over the next two years while expanding processing capacity for clients in the construction, marine, energy and transportation sectors, according to a news release.
