BATAVIA, Ohio (WXIX) – A new VA medical center is officially open and serving veterans in Clermont County, but a long-awaited look inside the facility has been delayed.
The facility sits off Interstate 275 at the Batavia exit for State Route 32. A first look inside for cameras was planned for Sept. 18. The unveiling has been delayed, but services at the facility are open.
New location eases pressure on downtown VA
For the roughly 14,000 veterans in Clermont County, the new facility on Ivy Pointe Boulevard is ready now, according to Stephen Balczo, executive director of the Clermont County Veterans Service Office.
“So this really eases the pressure off of the VA downtown. It is a little closer to us here in the Batavia Township office that we have. But we also have a fleet of five vehicles where we actually take individuals to their VA appointments from door to door and back home,” Balczo said…
