ALBANY, N.Y. (News10) – The number of reported measles cases across New York State jumped from 57 to 75 over the course of September, according to NYS Department of Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald.
It’s a significant increase compared to 2025, when the state recorded a total of 48 measles infections. As of September 23, most cases were concentrated in Steuben, Seneca, and Ostego Counties.
“We are generally seeing a couple of measles cases percolate every single day right now in rural New York,” McDonald said. “The other thing we’re seeing is that about one out of five cases are ending up in the hospital.”…
