FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A Fort Wayne man is facing the highest level felony charge in Indiana after reportedly being involved in a drug deal that led to another man dying from a fentanyl overdose, according to Allen Superior Court records.
Robert A. Combs, 25, received a charge of dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, which is a Level 1 felony. Combs also faces a Level 4 felony charge of dealing narcotic drugs.
Using surveillance footage, witness accounts and phone records, police linked Combs to an Aug. 11 meeting with the man where the drug deal reportedly took place at a Fort Wayne hotel. Several witnesses told police Combs sold fentanyl to support his own drug use.
On the morning of Aug. 12, police responded to a home where someone found the man unresponsive. During the initial investigation, officers found a blue vape pen and a piece of aluminum foil with apparent burn marks and charring sitting near the man, according to court documents…
