The Waterford Fair is returning for its 82nd year on Oct. 2-4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Virginia’s oldest juried crafts fair offers visitors a opportunity to step back in time while experiencing fine crafts, original art, traditional music, historic home and garden tours, living history and family-friendly activities.
A fascinating story being highlighted this year is of a 164-year-old friendship album belonging to Maranda Stewart Hough of Waterford, discovered by California content creator, Margarete Miller, in a thrift store for just $1.99. Miller will bring this remarkable piece of local history home to the Waterford Foundation, accompanied by a global community addendum that revives Hough’s 1860 tradition of collecting signatures and sentiments. Miller will also present a special Tent Talk during the fair.
Since 1943, the Waterford Fair, organized by the Waterford Foundation, has drawn visitors to one of the country’s most distinctive fall arts and crafts events.
