Hillsborough County, FL – The Southwest Florida Water Management District is preparing a new series of permitted feral hog hunts aimed at reducing the invasive animals across district-owned properties.
The district’s 2026-27 Feral Hog Dog Hunt Incentive Program will begin this fall and continue into 2027. The program uses controlled hunts to remove feral hogs, which officials say can damage natural habitats and compete with native wildlife.
