Just like Saturday night, foggy conditions are possible again tonight. Mainly clear skies and calm winds will allow for some patchy fog to develop, generally west of Green Bay early Monday morning. Watch for areas of low visibility as you head out to work Monday morning. You’ll also want a jacket as you get out the front door – temperatures will have dipped to the upper 40s for most locations.
HIGH-PRESSURE KEEPS US DRY…FOR NOW
Monday: Once areas of patchy fog lift, skies will be sunny to mostly sunny, thanks to high-pressure in place. Temperatures will quickly boost into the upper 60s along the lakeshore and into the low to mid 70s near and north of the Fox Cities, more typical of a day in early/mid-September rather than the final days of the month. Conditions will be ideal for fun outdoor activities – enjoy them – wetter weather is on the way. Mostly clear conditions are in the cards Monday evening, which allows for cooler air to settle in as temperatures fall to near 50°.
Unsettled Midweek: A weak disturbance tracking out of the Rockies brings rain to northeast Wisconsin Tuesday night and on Wednesday. A weak area of low-pressure will jet northeastward across the Great Plains on Tuesday. For us, we’ll stay dry on Tuesday with increasing clouds, with showers arriving late-Tuesday night. As the low phases out over south-central Canada into Wednesday, it will drag a weak cold front slowly across the Upper Midwest from west-to-east. The slow forward progression of this cold front and another trailing disturbance emerging over the central Great Plains will push rain chances further into Wednesday. In fact, recent trends suggest scattered showers may linger into Wednesday evening.
It likely won’t be until Wednesday night and into Thursday when showers finally exit. This comes alongside the long-awaited cold front finally getting to pass through northeast Wisconsin by Thursday morning. Behind it will follow the arrival of Canadian high-pressure, which will bring both drier and cooler, albeit seasonable, conditions by the first weekend of October…
