The No. 20 Michigan women’s soccer team’s clean passing, calmness under pressure and skilled ball movement were all suffocated by an 11th-hour goal by Nebraska.
Despite dominating the first half, the Wolverines (4-3-3 overall, 2-3-0 Big Ten) played a shaky second half which left them pointless in the final minutes of Sunday’s game against the Huskers (3-3-5, 1-2-2). Finding the back of the net in the 87th minute, Nebraska secured the win, 1-0.
Michigan’s defensive line held steady through the first half, preventing any shots on goal. The Wolverines calmly recycled the ball and practiced patience, not forcing it forward when passes weren’t on.
