ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Highland Hospital has a new post-operative unit for patients expected to return home within 24 hours of their surgery.
Hospital leaders and staff gathered last week to cut the ribbon on the 26-bed unit on the fourth floor of the Southeast Tower. It features a gym where short-stay orthopedic and joint-replacement patients can begin recovery after surgery.
Maura Snyder, chief operating officer of Highland Hospital, says the new center will allow staff to better match their resources to patients’ needs.
