MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Officers for the Madera Police Department made two different DUI arrests on Friday night.
An officer witnessed a driver, 32-year-old David Lucas, display signs of alcohol intoxication in the area of Olive and Roosevelt avenues Friday evening, according to the department. The officer pulled the vehicle over, and a K-9 unit assisted with the stop.
K-9 Bonnie was launched into action and detected the smell of narcotics in Lucas’ vehicle. Law enforcement says that officers then found cocaine and methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Officers say that Lucas was then arrested for DUI and possession of narcotics.
Another DUI investigation was simultaneously underway less than a mile away. An officer performed a stop at Sunrise and Knox avenues. 35-year-old Samuel Juarez was pulled over for possibly driving under the influence, according to officers…
