ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – In a bizarre move, the City of Albuquerque is closing a popular downtown park for hours during the day, and it’s giving police the opportunity to drive out the homeless. But the city insists that’s not the reason behind the change.

It’s home to a popular Saturday growers market full of fresh foods and unique artifacts, but if you’re visiting during the week, you will see it frequented by the homeless, used cigarette butts in the dirt, and trash strewn about the park.
