Hazard cleared on I-69 South near Union Chapel Road

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – I-69 South was seeing slowed or stopped traffic after a semi caused a traffic hazard, but the hazard has since been cleared

On Wednesday around 3 p.m., a stopped semi blocked the southbound lanes of I-69 near Union Chapel Road, creating a traffic hazard, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation’s TrafficWise Map. Police on scene and were directing traffic slowly through the left passing lane.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department told WANE 15 that the hazard was caused when DeKalb County authorities attempted to pull over the semi driver. The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued, crossing into Allen County. DeKalb County authorities called on Allen County, and the driver eventually stopped near Union Chapel Road and explained that they did not see officers trying to pull them over. Police took the driver into custody briefly, and the driver was very cooperative…
