(WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Department of Health said Wednesday that an unvaccinated Lancaster County resident who tested positive for measles has died.
The health department said this is the fifth Pennsylvania resident whose death is measles-associated. The number of confirmed measles cases for the state is currently 943 across 39 counties.
The health department is reporting that there have been 40 new cases since Monday, Sept. 28. A total of 176 people who have measles are hospitalized and there are four people who are vaccinated but have measles.
