Golfers promised ‘seamless transition’ in latest employee shakeup at courses in The Villages

Golfers are being promised a “seamless transition” as The Villages prepares for yet another major shakeup of its golf personnel.

The organizational shift, expected to take place in December, is aimed at streamlining operations and allowing the Developer to concentrate strictly on championship courses, pro shops, tennis, and the Golf Academy. The Executive Golf Operations will be under the umbrella of the Recreation & Parks Department.

Under the new plan, the District’s golf operations team will focus solely on the community’s executive golf courses, Putt ’N Play, and Pitch ’N Putt facilities. Executive Golf Operations will be overseen by Brian Linton, a longtime PGA Golf Professional in The Villages who has been named the new Assistant Director of Golf Operations. Linton will be permanently based out of the Everglades Recreation Center.

Linton will oversee three regionally based golf managers representing the North, Central, and South areas of the community. Those managers will be based out of the Laurel Manor, Colony Cottage, and Everglades recreation centers, respectively, and will manage the day-to-day operations and outside staff at the executive courses…
