FIRST ALERT: Scattered showers or storms at times this weekend

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Milder tonight with a partly cloudy sky and lows in the low to mid 60s.

FRIDAY: Expect some sun and dry weather in the morning with a spotty shower or storm in the afternoon, especially on the Cumberland Plateau into southeast KY. Off and on showers or a few storms are possible Friday night along and north of I-40. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s.

SATURDAY: Rain will still linger in the northern counties through the morning, but toward the afternoon, spotty showers and thunderstorms will begin to pick up. As the frontal boundary sinks south, scattered heavy rain activity will pick up, giving the chance for flooding, as we have downpours possible in the forecast. High temperatures will begin to fall, only making it to the low 80s for the high.

VOLUNTEER GAME DAY FORECAST: Take your poncho if you are heading to Neyland to watch the Vols take on Auburn. There could be a downpour at any time, but it’s not a guarantee…
