A bat found in an Irvine neighborhood has tested positive for rabies, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
The OC Health Care Agency said the bat was between 18 Wedgewood and 28 Whispering Pine, less than a quarter-mile from Canyon View Elementary School, on Monday, Sept. 28, World Rabies Day.
Officials urged anyone who had physical contact with the bat or saw someone touching it to call the OC Health Care Agency’s Communicable Disease Control Division at (714) 834-8180. Pet owners who believe their animals may have touched the bat should contact their veterinarians…
