Friday, October 2, 2026: District openers, a familiar MAIS rivalry and several unbeaten teams give Mississippi fans plenty to follow, from Flowood to the Delta.

Jackson Academy arrives at Jackson Prep on Friday with six wins, a district victory already in hand and a chance to make an old rival’s route through October considerably harder. Prep has lost only once, but that loss came in district play. Another would leave the Patriots chasing from 0-2.
