MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – After hesitating, Mary Jane Rivers pleaded guilty to dog abuse charges Monday, related to two dogs thrown from a bridge.
Mobile County prosecutors offered a sentencing recommendation of 200 hours of community service if Rivers pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges. Prosecutors alleged that she directed her teenage son to drop two dogs from the Dog River Bridge in December 2024.
