Food On The Move served more than 1,100 Tulsa families in September

TULSA, Okla. – Food On The Move served more than 1,100 Tulsa families in September as volunteers, staff and community partners helped provide food, hot meals and resources across the city.

The organization said 1,153 families were served, 972 hot meals were provided and 23,387 pounds of food were distributed. A total of 139 volunteers helped with the effort.

Food On The Move focuses on food access

Food On The Move CEO Tina Parkhill said the organization works to remove barriers that can prevent families from accessing fresh food.

“Food On The Move is dedicated to removing barriers that prevent families from accessing fresh, nutritious food. Our mission goes beyond providing food. We believe that when communities invest in food access, they are investing in healthier neighborhoods, stronger local economies and brighter futures.”
