LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville nonprofits are helping people experiencing homelessness as colder months approach.
Several organizations gathered at the Salvation Army’s Stand Down resource fair, offering emergency kits, coats and information on services. Dozens of people attended the event to access resources organizers said are meant to address immediate needs.
“A lot of overlapping services, but a lot of these organizations offer completely different services that are really just making it easier for folks to access the help that they need by having one spot where they can come and kind of reach all their needs in one day,” said Jonathan Barfield, director of development for the Salvation Army…
