Ozone alert issued for Oklahoma City on Friday

OKLAHOMA – The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has issued an ozone alert for the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metropolitan areas for Friday, Oct. 9, warning that air pollution could reach levels of concern.

The alert means ozone concentrations are expected to approach potentially unhealthy levels. Pollution could also persist overnight, according to state environmental officials.

The alert will trigger a Central Oklahoma Air Quality Alert from the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments and an Ozone Alert! Day from the Indian Nations Council of Governments in the Tulsa area.
