Lansing-area site of Michigan automotive supplier set to close, affecting 67 jobs

LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – Dakkota Integrated Systems LLC plans to close its facility at 16130 Grove Road in the Lansing area, resulting in 67 job cuts on Dec. 31, according to a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice filed with the state.

The affected jobs include 41 operators, eight material handlers and four team leads. Other positions listed include manufacturing engineers, maintenance technicians, material-planning staff, and quality and supervisory employees.

Dakkota is one of three companies planning to eliminate a combined 187 jobs in Michigan, according to the notices. Automotive supplier Lear Corp. plans to close its Sterling Heights facility, resulting in 67 layoffs on Nov. 9. Lear’s notice does not list affected job titles or give a reason for the closure…
