Desmond Doss’ Medal of Honor display coming to his childhood home in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — A piece of World War II hero Desmond Doss’ legacy is returning to Lynchburg, where his childhood home now serves as a place of healing for veterans.

Doss’ son, Desmond T. Doss Jr., is donating a display model of his father’s Medal of Honor to the historic home. The model was unveiled during a gathering of veterans from Lynchburg and surrounding communities.
