Wichita man charged after picking up gun during KC mass shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita man was charged in Kansas City, Missouri after police say he picked up a handgun amidst the shooting at Union Station on Wednesday.

Court documents show Jose Castillo was charged in Jackson County, Missouri, with unlawful possession of a firearm.

The probable cause document filed Thursday says a witness who observed a fight pointed out Castillo to officers, saying he had picked up a handgun that was dropped by someone involved in the fight and walked away.

Castillo was told by police to get on the ground, and while he was getting on the ground, he removed a black Glock 22 from his person and threw it on the ground.
